Pokemon Go Safety Concerns

It was only a matter of time. Let's face it: people just can't multitask safely when they are face-first in their smartphones. The number of texting-while-driving accidents--and even texting-while-walking accidents--should adequately attest to that. But the explosion of Pokemon Go, a game in which users stare at their smartphones to go on a virtual scavenger hunt for Pokemon, shows that people continue to underestimate the dangers of walking around in the real world while their heads are in a virtual world.

Man's Plea Deal Includes Testifying Against Wife

In 2006, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) selected Jerry and Deidre Matthews as the Adoptive Family of the Year for northeast Oklahoma. According to DHS, the Matthews were foster parents from 2003 through 2006, when they adopted two children in their care.

Ikea Dresssers Recalled after Several Toddler Deaths

After at least six children have been killed in tip-over accidents involving Ikea dressers for children and adults, the company has issued a recall of 29 million dressers in the United States. The recall affects 8 million MALM dressers and 21 million additional dressers under varying model names.

New Oklahoma Law to Reduce Sentencing for Drug Possession

For years, Oklahoma has been known for having some of the nation's toughest drug laws. However, in the post-War on Drugs era, it has become evident that a tough-on-crime approach to non-violent drug offenses has simply led to prison overcrowding, an influx of children in DHS care, and little to no rehabilitation for drug offenders. Instead, tough sentencing for non-violent drug offenses, such as possession for personal use, merely creates a cycle of addiction and incarceration.

Witnesses Say Street Race Led to Pedestrian Death
