Edmond Sun Graphic Designer Arrested for Child Porn

Tuesday, July 1, 2014

A graphic designer for The Edmond Sun is one of three recent child pornography arrests resulting from separate incidents in the metro area.

Jared Ethan Horton, 29, was arrested after police received a report that the man was in possession of several images of child pornography. According to The Edmond Sun, the man had been staying with his sister when her young son discovered a backpack with several flash drives in it. The boy put the flash drives into a computer to see what kind of music was on them, but instead discovered files with pornographic images of children as young as 6.

The sister confronted Horton, who allegedly replied, "I screwed up. I'm sorry." The woman kicked Horton out of her home and notified police, who began an investigation on June 4.

A warrant for Horton's arrest was issued June 26, and police arrested the suspect in Wewoka the following day. Jared Horton was booked into the Seminole County Jail on two counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of aggravated possession of child pornography.

Aggravated child pornography is the possession of 100 or more images of child porn, whether separate images or multiple copies of the same image. Possession of child pornography is a felony sex crime. Under 21 O.S. 1021.2, any person who knowingly possesses child pornography is subject to a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Two other men have recently been arrested for possession of child pornography and other related complaints recently. Both men are held in the Canadian County Jail.

Enrique Sandoval was arrested on child pornography complaints after an investigation allegedly uncovered more than 7,000 searches for child pornography on his computer. The Canadian County Sheriff's Department claims Sandoval admitted to downloading child pornography, but law enforcement officers believe he was also distributing child porn across the state. Sandoval is held on $25,000 bond.

Michael Goddard is also being held in the Canadian County jail. He was arrested after a mother contacted them saying she discovered that her 14-year-old son sent nude photos to a person he at first believed to be a teen girl. She said that her son admitted that the person was pursuing him for nude pictures and for sex.

Police say Goddard told them that he had posed as a teen girl on Facebook in order to solicit nude photos from at least 100 boys. Goddard is jailed on complaints of possession of child pornography and online solicitation of a minor. He is being held on $100,000 bond.
